That’s funny I thought TT waited until someone calls them and asks why the congestion is not shown on their unit, and then they update their systems. Wink

TrafficTV downloads data for the whole of the UK using Trafficmaster so you can see the speed or delays and images from the CCTV cameras for the whole journey. It can also follow your position on the map using GPS.

I haven't got a telly in my van. Crying or Very sad Incidentally, I'm temporarily down to only one more device than you. Sad

TrafficTv is available on my mobile. It's free for a month then it's £4 a month plus data charges

I think IQR is actually much more effective than any traffic reporting system. The vast majority of traffic congestion can be anticipated based simply on time of day and day of the week. Many of us know what roads should be avoided at certain times of the day in our own communities, and what other roads can be used to avoid them. IQRoutes now passes that information along to those less familiar with the area they're traveling.

Here in the States, TomTom's used to offer poor routing choices in many areas with ETA's way off from actual drive times. IQR has made it possible for Tomtom/TeleAtlasTA to leapfrog Navteq routes in the metros, even tho the physical road attributes and mapping may still be inferior from TA in a few of them. Using a TomTom One (no IQR) and a 730 for routing in the late afternoon in one of the larger cities will show just how much of a improvement IQR can make. Rural areas, perhaps not so much, and in fact here in the US Garmin/Navteq will still offer better routes and more accurate ETA's compared to my TomTom much of the time. Put me in a big city tho and the TomTom's with IQR can make a definite difference.

I fully agree with this view, you can use the road side active signs in the UK to work out whats wrong on the road ahead, and often these are more accurate than the information supplied by the Traffic data, when IQ Routes works it works very well indeed from what I have seen - Mike

A certification that Tomtom requested on their procedures and maintenance policies for delivery of HDTraffic services. In essence they paid TUV SUD (TSC), a German company, for an audit resulting in TSC/NavCert's seal-of-approval if you will. The same company they used for TA's certificate for mapping, and the additional one for MapShare.
