If you check the TT site for UK, US, France, etc., the banner as of (GMT-5) Noon announces new maps now available.....
BUT.....if you click through the link to purchase a map of your choice, you still only get the 835 version available.
However, probably an indication that the 840's will be released very soon now. _________________ David |

I'm going to be in no hurry to "upgrade" given the absolute fiasco of the last new map release. |

In retrospect, I may have misinterpreted what the banner was meaning. It may have meant new maps for countries not previously covered by TomTom. Not sure, now........ _________________ David |

How's about this for a hint? Email from TT concerning my XL Live... (my bold red).
Quote: | Dear Dennis,
You recently used our Latest Map Guarantee to get the most up-to-date map (UK&ROI 835.2419) for your new TomTom device:
But did you know this entitles you to join the TomTom Map Update Service without paying an entrance fee?
Buy before 17th November.
Here’s how it works:
* You get four new maps a year
* You buy the four maps in advance, costing you a total of blank space
* We email you every time a new map is available to download
* It saves you money, costing just blank space a quarter
* You can relax, knowing you'll always have the latest map
If you buy now, you’ll get the next map update in the second half of November. But hurry, the offer ends soon! |

My 530 map update expired and I renewed it, a few days later I received an email from TomTom telling me my map update service had expired. _________________ Drivelux |

Blimey, you turn your back and ....... I've just received another email, this time exactly the same, but with prices GBP 27.80 and GBP 6.95 respectively.
I shall buy it, because I'll want at least one new map over the next year, so four for the price of less than one is enough temptation. _________________ Dennis

I think I'd place more emphasis on "second half of November" David. Anyway, they're just after sales - if I wait until after the new map comes out, I'll get a longer 12 months, but have to pay a fee for the first update map.
Nevertheless, I have to thank them for telling me how long to wait before I register and get LMG on my new (refurbished) 520. _________________ Dennis

Does anyone have the dates of when the last 4 maps were released (TT520)
I have just had an email from TT saying my update subscription has expired and I can't remember receiving 4 updates over the last year.
I do a backup each time I update a map or application and only have 3 so did I miss one or have I been short changed |

I had exactly the same e-mail several weeks ago and thought I had not had my four maps.
Checking with TT, I now discover that I did and it was my records that were wrong. Here's the versions and dates:
Map update service
Map version 810 - Downloaded 25th Sept 2008 (release date: 03 Sept 08)
Map version 815 - Downloaded 11th Nov 2008 (release date: 10 Nov 08)
Map version 825 - Downloaded 27th Feb 2009 (release date: 27 Feb 09)
Map version 830 - Downloaded 18 May 2009 (release date: 18 May 09)
Map version 835 - Downloaded 20 Aug 2009 (release date: 20 Aug 09)
Hope it helps. _________________ Ric - TomTom 520 DEAD - Passed to the great traffic jam in the sky. Now using Maps & Waze on Samsung Galaxy S4 + CamerAlert of course! |

Sounds a good deal to me so I've just signed up to £19.80 a years UK & ROI maps for my trusty old ONE v1
Half the price I paid last year.

Thanks for the info, my backups tend to correspond with your dates so looks like I have had all my allowed updates |
