Nuvi 775T transatlantic maps.upgrade eligibility

I bought a Nuvi 775T which initially appeared to be an attractive unit however on further reading of this forum it appears I have bought into the wrong manufacturer.

The 765 comes with the European and the US maps. I have downloaded the latest US map - however when and if the latest European map appears, will I be entitled to a free upgrade? Any thoughts please.

Also looking at the upgrades for life option on the Garmin site it does not appear to offer a good value program if one wants to upgrade both sets of included maps for life.

Comparing the new satnav with my 4 or 5 year old Magellan, the electronics are far better but some of the software features are not so sophisticated. However it is fun to see US addresses and distance show up when using the device in the UK.

The free Numaps guarantee applies to one of Europe or US if you have a transatlatic unit such as the 775. It's not very clear because until you get the unit you may not realise that the two areas are separate maps as far as Garmin are concerned (semi-obvious if you're more used to satnavs - but not clear from packaging and so on). I think their site points it out a bit more now.
