Hi All

Just bought this phone and using the co-pilot live trial i`ve decided i`m going to use it as my main in-car satnav.
Could someone suggest an in-car mount for it. There seems quite a few on ebay for under a tenner or theres the Brodit range which are around £35-40.
Whats so special about the Brodit ones compared to the cheaper type that come with a power cable included? Also on my car the Brodit is only mounted near the door, which i`d prefer not to do.

Thanks

Paul

We have just received Brodit and Carcomm cradles for the Hero.

The Brodit ones are superb because they interface with their ProClip vehicle dash mounts, custom clips uniquely designed for each vehicle.

Carcomm's solutions are more akin to OEM carkits. They come with a windscreen mount included, the Brodit's have a gooseneck mount as an option if the ProClip is not suitable.

Another tip for Brodit, sometimes the LHD ProClip may suit you better, always worth checking.

i currently use my old passive mount for my tmobile mda compact iii (htc artemis) - fits nicely! obviously if you're wanting a powered/active mount then my cheap option won;t work though!!

ok thanks

When you say powered/active mounts, whats the difference between them and just using the cigeratte power cable, easier to plug in?

Just trying to work out why spend £40-50 when I can get something for £8 off ebay that looks to do the same job?

Thanks again

Paul

Yes that and also some allow you to hard wire to your car rather than use the 12v outlet. You can't just chop off the plug as it converts the vehicle 12v to the required 5v that the device expects.

You get what you pay for. The £8 jobbie will work but the more expensive solutions will do it better and look better.

The choice is yours though Smile

ok thanks. Think i`ll go for the brodit clip, have a feeling the ebay ones will disintegrate after a few uses.
