CP8 Windows mobile IMPORTING POI's

Trying to import a csv file into CP8 on a PDA running win mobile 5........I import the file using CP central, re-start the program on the PDA and it says importing xyz etc, I choose a name, select an icon, tell it that it is not a safety camera file, click next .....and it says zero POI's imported !

I have done this with several files and some went OK, some not.
Have extracted the POI data and saved it to a new file with the same results.

As far as I can see the data structure is correct - a csv file containing name, speed(blank), heading(blank),lon,lat and it all looks pretty much like a PGPSW file but I cannot get it to import, I ve even added a type column at the end.

Looking at the folder on the PDA it just has 3 entries in \copilot\eu\europe\save\user_places\{filename} ...files are poi.set and poi.typ2 and version.dat whereas a successful install has 17 entries in its' folder.

I have also tried creating a dummy csv file but that didn't work either !

Presumably I have missed something petty basic but I cannot see what.
