Commonly known as Mini-USB. Mini-B USB plug in some circles. _________________ Darren Griffin |

Hi all
really interested in buying a bean bag mount, tried the link mentioned previously & with GPS discount (0.95p) I can get one for my XL one for twenty quid.
Everyone's posts say that they are good, but doubting Thomas that I am it seems odd that an unfixed bag can support the device with such a high centre of gravity when cornering or braking. Do they rely purely on weight or are sticky pads involved?
As I use my unit between 2 cars and also work pool cars, it would seem an ideal purchase. I would appreciate your comments
thanks

Hi obeone
It does not have sticky pads but is certainly heavy for its size. So it’s the weight and the material that its is made of that keeps it in place. I can assure you that my beanbag has stayed in place every time I have used it. My longest trip since acquiring one has been two hundred miles and it never moved at all. Quite remarkable really.
Believe me, I have wasted money on silly purchases in the past but this is not one of them. _________________ Tomtom Go 720.

Thanks | You won't be sorry. And I can also reassure you that it doesn't move. On a fortnight's holiday in France we drove 1700 miles and it was never off the dashboard and didn't move once.
If you are still concerned when you get it, it comes with a windscreen sucker and a cord that you can hook on the mount. But I've never even tried it and I now don't even know where mine is. I suppose it could be needed if you had a steeply sloping dashboard but I can't think of any cars like that at the moment. _________________ TT Go Essential |

I have an Arkon beanbag mount, but it's too big for the flat area on my wife's VW Fox. Are there any bean bag mounts with a more flexible base which would enable them to mould themselves to the shape of the dash?
Robin
edit. I suppose the alternative would be a small adhesive plate that would stick to the dash (so long as the adhesive could be removed at a later date) But of course, that would be just as visible as a ring on the windscreen _________________ TomTom One v3 Europe, Navcore 7.903, Western Europe 835.2420

Perhaps I could get a sample to test as I live in Poland and surely no better test bed of a beanbags fit for purpose than few hundred clicks on our local roads _________________ in the 128 |

I ordered one from BlueUnplugged for my TTgo730 this morning, the bill came to just under £20 including delivery to UK and the GPS5 discount code.
However, I have just checked the "Confirmation of Order" e-mail BlueUnplugged sent me and I notice that I had left the address off of the delivery details. I included only my friends name and his post code.
Soy Tonto !
Fingers crossed that both BlueUnplugged and Royal Mail come to my rescue and bail me out. _________________ Garmin Nuvi 2599

I've been looking for a bean bag mount to try out with the Go 720 but if I got the one posted in this thread I wouldn't be too keen to add the self adhesive safety hook. One of the reasons to buy a bean bag mount is to make a sat nav less obvious to the crooks. A self adhesive hook on the dash is just as obvious as the tell tale suction mount rings on the windscreen.
Looks like a good mount for the 520 and 720 though, unlike one of the others so hyped up by the Welsh police but unsuitable for the 520/720 without an adapter to raise the height of the TT suction mount. |
