|
|
Has anyone else had a problem today. My HD traffic seemed to be working in that I was getting small delays reported here and there, but then it missed a delay I experienced of one and a half hours on the A46 round Warwick. This same traffic was showing up on other systems like my iPhone traffic information app and Google Maps which I didn't check until I was well and truly stuck in it. Was really annoying because I could have easily taken a same distance alternate route had I known. _________________ Tony

Just returned from a trip to the hospital and HD Traffic was working for me this afternoon, M3/M25 between 1 and 3pm? _________________ Darren Griffin |

Yes I was afraid of that, cos as I said it appeared to be working in other places for me. I just don't see how such a massive traffic jam as I was in could have been missed by the Vodafone network used by Live. This makes me lose confidence in HD traffic which until now I have found pretty reliable. This bit me badly this morning, I have been lulled into a false sense of security and as a result didn't check my other sources of traffic. _________________ Tony

I lost HD Traffic between Stockport and Blackpool around 12:30 to 13:30 earlier today, it kept trying to connect but yellow triangle each time, was working on the way home from work though around 17:00 - Mike |

This wasn't that sort of problem. It was working for minor bits of traffic elsewhere, but for 3 hours (9-12) while there was an hour and a half delay it showed nothing in that area. _________________ Tony

It was connecting fine this morning but I had brief problems around 4:30 this evening when it took several attempts to connect.
This morning I was on a road parallel to the M25 and I was watching a 1 mile 1 minute traffic delay appearing and dissappearing on HD traffic but the traffic was free and clear on the motorway. _________________ Drivelux |

I can only conclude that TomTom did not have the data about this major hold up, which I find rather surprising and disappointing. _________________ Tony

There are always going to be missing incidents, no system is 100% perfect. I find that more often than not, major incidents are covered. |

But I thought the whole point of HD Live is that it makes use of the Vodafone network and statistically the bigger the jam the more accurate it is. I can't believe there weren't some Vodafone users in the 10 miles of standing traffic. Up until now I have found it mainly accurate for even 2 or 3 minute delays. _________________ Tony

Like I said, nothing is perfect. The other week I was stuck between junctions on the A1 up here in Newcastle in stationary traffic. It was around 6 miles long, and around 5 to 10 minutes after I joined the back of the jam, the incident appeared on the HD traffic system! |

Well I wouldn't call it anywhere near perfect if it misses such major incidents. There is something seriously wrong with what TT do with the raw data. _________________ Tony

Probably find the Vodaphone transmitter was out of action at that location, so no Vodaphone info got through _________________ Tomtom Go520, App 8.010, Map UK&ROI 810.1870 |
