I'm looking for a pocketpc, gps that i can use for:
Daily a worker visit 1500 trees, record its position and fills an estatus field. It gave us 9 seconds per tree more or less. The trees are 27 feet far each other. At the end of de job day, the worker download the records into a server. An external battery its necesary for 8-hours of the job day

To achieve that kind of accuracy you'll need a survey grade GPS with differential correction, these are not cheap! Otherwise, a h2210 iPAQ with the extended battery will give you 8hrs use and you could couple this with an Otterbox to protect the unit.
Survey equipment is not something we have covered but take a look at Trimble's website www.trimble.com for more information.

| ive recently been using a trimble unit for doing surveying, very easy to use, even if you do look a touch stupid with a great big dome on your back ;) |

Should have said, the unit i used produces .ssf files, which can then be converted to excel (cant remember the program name, or if it comes with the GPS unit). Im currently sticking this info into access.
The forms that appear on the trimble unit can be customised to suit your needs (ive not dealt with this though, so ive no idea how easy it is) |

Very Time Team! I saw an OS motorcycle the other day with a Trimble unit on the back capturing road data I guess.
