Route 66 Mini Regional Uk & Ireland

I recently purchased the Route 66 mini regional Uk & Ireland Sat nav and wodrered if any one has any experience with same ?

My unit seems to work fine with the exception of the verbal instructions.
When I start to navigate to a location the voice works but after a short period stops talking altogether. If i set it to mute then reset it to normal it works again for a while but shortly after will stop again.

Is this a hardware or software problem ?

any ideas ?

Sorry I don't have any help for you but have you installed any additional POIs on it yet. and did they all work fine. I was thinking of buying one.
seam to be good price. 90quid.

I know it is a long time after the event but I do know the answer to this.
It is a software bug and can be fixed by downloading and installing the latest Route 66 Mini/Maxi software from the route 66 website.

The bug is caused by the POI / Camera alerts. When the satnav first warns of a camera or POI, the unit loses its voice! You have to do a hard reset to get the voice back (must admit I didn't try the MUTE option). As a workround, you can disable POI and camera alerts.
