I have updated my 530 GO and it no longer wants to start. It will show the opening pretty picture but that is all. If I try and operate through Tom Tom Home it will work on operate my Go but when disconnected it will open the picture hesitate and then shut down again. I have tried the instructions for soft reset and removing the application and reloading, but there is no application showing for updating. Any ideas anyone. I would be eternally grateful. |

Hi and welcome.
I've moved this from the Garmin Forum to the TomTom Forum where it'll get more appropriate attention. |

Have you got an SD card inserted to the device, if so remove it then see if the device will boot up correctly, if it does tap the sat strength meter followed by the version box, the resultant screen will show lots of information what is the App version and map version number?
If my first idea didn't help:
Make a full backup of the device using Windows Explorer NOT Home (on a good day Home is useless), there are instructions on how to do this on the FAQ page which can be found Here #1 for backup
With that done connect the device to the PC and if Home starts up shut it down. View the contents of the drive letter associated with your TomTom using Windows Explorer, DO NOT TOUCH ANY FOLDERS OR FILES WITHIN FOLDERS, but select all the lose files that you see on the screen and hit delete.
Now start TomTom Home and as it to update the device, if it won't you can do a manual install using WinRar, but lets try the "official" route first - Mike |

What a star. I followed your instructions and now have a fully functioning 530 Go once again.
