Updating TomTom

Quick question someone should be able to answer.

Is it ok to update my 940 from two different computers?

The reason I ask is that when plugged into my main computer it only shows mapshare and fuel updates.

If it is on my laptop I see mapshare, fuel and the American map that I don't want on the TomTom.

So could I have issues with being out of sync by updating on two computers if it does not check the contents of the TomTom before updating. Might sound a silly question but I'm unsure if I should be worried or not, just paranoid I think!

TomTom Home does check the contents of the device. So shouldn't be any problems using two computers. I have done it with my 730 before now and it didn't break anything

As for the Map. You must have downloaded it at some point but not put it on your TomTom. Have a look in

My Documents\TomTom\HOME\Downloads\complete\map

and see if it is listed in there. If so move it to another folder (just in case). If Home now ignores it then you could delete it or just leave it out of the way.
