Try formatting the internal memory and then reloading the navcore and your map and see if it will boot then. Obviously, make sure you have a full Windows Explorer backup before you start.

Are you ejecting the device from within HOME successfully?

Whenever I change anything via HOME I disconnect the device from within HOME, let it boot up, turn off, turn back on again and then connect to the computer for the next update - worth a try.

progress - of sorts. All files now on SD. TT boots although I have lost computer voices ( not sure what else yet ). Can only seem to download one US computer voice. Update gives me nothing to choose from. Strange!!

Mike - does this mean the flash memory is bu**ered? if so can I only run now off SD card? Not quite sure what this means.

Many thanks

Simon

Ok guys. Sort of got the TT going but no computer voices. They are on the SD card in the right folder. Have reset etc. Also removed them from the TT and reinstalled them through home. They are not even showing in the change voices bit. Any ideas?
Thanks

95 mb (96 on disk) This folder is on the SD card.

Also - there is still a folder left on the device LoquendoTTS, which I cannot delete. It has a folder in it called lib and in there is a file loqmsx.so I cannot delete the folders as there is this file in there but everytime I delete the file it reappears!!

As you have a full backup on the PC remove the SD card then connect the device to the Computer and if TT Home starts up shut the program down as its not needed for this.
Using Windows Explorer right click the drive letter associated with the TomTom and choose "Format" from the list, OK the nagging screens that warn you this isn't a good idea etc and let it format the memory. When its finished the troublesome folder and file should have gone - Mike

Done that and the file has indeed gone. Have restarted / reset etc and still have no computer voices on the TT albeit they are all shown in the folder.

Do you want to try downloading new voice folders with fresh content, these are the newer TTS voice files and might make a difference:

Simon_v7

Installation is the same method you used for the applicatin install last night - Mike

Does Home show the computer voices as being on the computer AND on the device?

If so, uninstall the application and reinstall. Put the application in the same location as the Loquendo folder (sd or internal).

Worked for me last week when I had the same issue.

Mike - tried that - no good I am afraid.

David - the voices are only on the device - not on computer. Internal memory is now completely empty and everything is on the SD.

Bottom line - everything is where it should be but only the recorded voices are showing up / can be selected / work on the device

Losing the will to live ( perhaps I ought to buy a Garmin!!! Wink )

Sorry, I'm missing something here......

When you used Mike's links, what happened or didn't happen when you tried to dl and install a computer voice? (You did tell Home to select the sd card, right?)

I installed Mike's links in the same way as I did the application manually yesterday. This did not involve HOME as I extracted the files to the SD card using explorer. This also over wrote the computer voice files that were already on the SD card ( had the option to select 'yes to all' etc )

I have also tried through HOME. I have deleted the voices and re installed them using update and 'add voices' in HOME. Still no good.

Hope this makes sense.

Can you post up a list of whats in the LoquendoTTS folder, if you copy the folder to the PC and use drivez to list the contents you can paste it straight on to the forum, drivez is available from Here for free.

This way we can have a look and see if something is missing from the folder - Mike

I think some of those folders break down as well. Do you need this doing?
