A screen shot would really help us understand this. It's easily achieved and if you send to me I'll ensure nothing personal is left in view when I post the screen-shots here.

A picture paints a thousand words!

One thing I've never done with a PC, taken a screen-shot, or I would have sent it to you at the start...

Cheers...

Also noted the following as yesterday...
"My Documents" +Tom Tom (then below that it shows) -HOME (which has two sub-folders) "From Device" and "Sharing".

"Owners Documents" (further down the file list it shows) +Tom Tom the below it shows -HOME then two sub-folders "From Device" and "Sharing". In other words, it shows the exact same empty folders and sub-folders in both "My Documents" and "Owners Documents". These empty folders can be deleted from both files but will reappear when I click on "Home" taskbar icon.

These are folders that are generated by TT Home and are normal.

The two folders that appear on your desktop, "TTG Home" and "pgpsw-speed-cams-vl9PF". Can you find these anywhere else on your PC?

When you unzipped the downloaded file "pgpsw-speed-cams-vl9PF.zip" from the PGPSW website, where did you unzip it to?

They've just arrived but you sent shortcuts to the files rather than the files themselves?

Sorry Darren but there were several reporting server errors which falsely led me to believe that they had not been sent. I ended-up changing e-mail programmes in an attempt to correct the errant messages.

Cheers...

I think they're all here now (I hope!). At 6mb an email they were hogging the email server for some time there!

I'll take a look at them tomorrow.

Just an idea from a different direction...

Do you have any security software loaded (possibly from Norton)? A bit of googling showed that this has some sort of protected recycle bin which may be holding the files and not deleting them properly.

There are reports of deleted files coming back (usually after rebooting though) so it could be something like Home "refreshing" the desktop icons when it loads up. In the "file locations" page in Home, do you have any of the options (downloads etc) set to your desktop?

Problem is that I couldn't find any links that actually said how to stop it happening. Confused Sad

I've looked at the screen-grab and I'll admit it hasn't shed any light on the issue for me, here is the relevant part:
