That's the easiest way around it. Plan two legs, and if you need the total mileage, just add the two distances up!

Bit of a lottery isn't it? I selected Find Alternative, then Avoid Part of Route and chose the tunnel. It gave me Poole to Cherbourg. Laughing

Sounds as though someone in Dover has upset TomTom so it wants everyone to avoid that route. Joker I don't have my device with me but I wonder what happens if you try to plan a route from Dover to Calais avoiding the tunnel.

It gets better if I force it to route via the Dover Bolougne ferry it takes me via the Chunnel to Frehun then a short drive to the Ferry at Calais, over to Dover, then back over to Boulogne.

Gladly no, my ferry route is Guernsey to St Malo. I'm really envious of some of the fares I see advertised though.

I did go over a few weeks ago and almost made a profit with the 6 bottles of free wine though! Not the best wine in the world though...

Will it choose the ferry if you do the route and then from "Avoid part of route" and then choose the tunnel?

All you've got to do is tell it to avoid part of the route, ie Folkstone-Calais.

See my post about 7 entries up - I got it to avoid the tunnel easily enough. But I was navigating from Bristol, so Poole to Cherbourg seemed more obvious. If I'd been serious, I'd then have tried to make that route go via Dover and see what happened. Trouble is, it's a heck of a long route to calculate, sits here churning away and I'm just too impatient to keep trying the various combinations!

I can Navigate to the exit point in Dover. I can Navigate from the exit point in Dover on to street in the docks in Boulogne and from that point to my destination but it will not do this is one trip. Anyway it is not of much interest to me as the fast-cat Dover-Boulogne route I use is from the Western Docks not the Eastern that TT shows.

Not anymore I'm afraid, they went bust some time ago, and LD lines are using eastern docks. Western docks is due for redevelopment.
