There was another thread on this topic, but cant find it now.
I am currently reviewing the 2210 car kit and mine came with the permanent cable.
If you checkout the Palm Review I have reviewed the Palm Car Kit which is pretty much the same as the 2210 version. _________________ Mike Barrett |

MikeB
I had one going but it got lost in the realms on the server upgrade Mike, Since you probably have more "power" than me with TomTom could you please ask the question for me as I am getting no where, in the above link
it shows you do, I also have a pdf data sheet that I can send you which shows you do, Also My TomTom question that I sent, said you dont. However I have had 2 kits from Amazon, brand new sealed and both only have the Cig power lead, I seem to be going around in circles and TomTom are not answering.

I have sent a request to TomTom over this issue and hopefully we can get this straightened out. I will post the response as soon as I get it. _________________ Mike Barrett |

thanks for that MikeB I wish TT were as quick, I take it you have a direct email rather than the "my TT question" route?
What I am worried about is since you seem to have got the cable included do they send out a box for review, and a box to sell.
did you post the link on there web site re the FAQ? also I have the pdf if you want it, I dont want them to just come back and say no you dont get it, when I have documentation to support this from TT direct
cheers for the help |

Reply from TomTom:
Quote: | We do not supply the cables to permanently connect to the car as standard as only a very small percentage of users require this and it was confusing the others supplying cables they did not need. When this decision was taken we were going to make these cables and instructions available from our web store for users that required them. I do not think this has been put in place yet, I will check when we expect this to be available. |
So it looks like they were originally providing this cable and have stopped doing so. The web site is lagging behind the policy making.
Hopefully this will be sorted soon. _________________ Mike Barrett |

thats a bit of a disapointment for me though as I was going to use it, i checked and researched on the net to find out which car kit I wanted and the literature and FAQ on TT stated I would get this cable
I feel this is disapointing for myself as I now am left with something that I wanted but only partly got.
I will still take this up with TT if you could forward my reply as well please MikeB as you get a fast response.
thanks again for helping me in this matter
