Having finally got my upgrade I cannot find the POIs that were in version 2. I often plan routes to gliding airfields, in version 2 most gliding sites appeared in the Airfield POI list in version 3 they don't. I was expecting the upgrade to have more POIs not less and wonder whether other POI lists have been reduced as well. |

Hi Guy,
Have you downloaded the PocketGPS Airfields POI, which can be downloaded here.

No, thanks for the link. I will load this. It is annoying to lose functionality with an upgrade. The only other standard POIs I regularly use are petrol stations but it made me wonder what else has been cut out. |

The Petrol Stations built in POI in Navigator 3 has rather fewer entries than Navigator 2 - but seems more accurate. A great deal of petrol stations have closed in the past few years, probably due to the marginal profitability of petrol retailing operations. Increasingly it takes a significant non-fuel revenue stream (or you're a loss-leader for a supermarket) that you can probably keep going.
Certainly a lot of closed petrol stations in mid Bedfordshire have correctly disappeared in Navigator 3.

But London Gliding Club is still in Bedfordshire contrary to TTN3! |

I know someone who is quite involved with that club. I think Allan K will be rather upset if London Gliding Club no longer exists!
Of course it's still there. Maybe TomTom or TeleAtlas have had a policy of rationalising the airports POI to include only those that provide public transport flights. Cranfield isn't in the Navigator 3 POI either - and I think that was in Navigator 2.
