Hi all, my initial post seems to have fallen foul of the hacker, so here I go again!
I have a 6010 x5 receiver on an ipaq2210 running tt2 and city maps. It is mounted using a powered mount from seidio.
My car is a Renault scenic, (but I have tried it with the receiver on the roof!)
My problem is, I only receive a signal for 5-10 mins or so before the gps freezes!
If I connect to a laptop in the same car running autoroute all seems fine!!
I am currently running ver 3.01 of gps s/w.
An initial reply yesterday suggested I try ver 2.7, where can I get that from?
Please help before I go totally mad!!!!

I have loaded the driver as suggested, and it does seem to function better, i am ,however, still having the unit lock up on me for no obvious reason. so i will try a hard reset and full reload and try again!
Just in case!!

Hi all Back again!
Sorry to say that a hard reboot hasn't cured my problems, so any other advise would be welcome!

any chance you can try the 6010 at a friends' machine, or try another GPS receiver with your machine?

Hi Lutz,
If i run it on my laptop running autoroute it seems fine. It aquires sats almost immediatly, and certainly whilst testing, (about an hour it seems fine!),my instinct tells me its a dodgy s/w load on the ipaq, but having hard reset and reinstalled, i am at a loss to see how i can make any difference to the load!

It must be a 2210 timing issue then. You probably have read about all the issues with the 2210 and TomTom III and the TomTom BT GPS... Did you install the latest ROM for the 2210?

I think it has more to do with the 2210 than with the receivers. Then again I may be wrong... I am really curious to see someone come up with the real explanation...

Update.
Following further investigation,
There were 2 different versions of gps listed in programs, so i deleted one. (ensuring i was left with ver 2.07).
I also changed the setting from rikaline to MNEA 4800.
resetting each time.
Having done this i got the reciever to stay "active" for 45 mins or so before locking, A RECORD!
I also found that it stopped cleanly when exited.

More testing followed, which reveald that if you run city maps or navigator, it locks up within 5-10 mins.
If either map was running this seems to prevent the ipaq cclosing the programe cleanly!

So it would seem i am progressing, but to where, at to what end result who can say!!!

Hi all back again, having re installed the latest Rom version, cleanly loading all the s/w as noted previously, the damned thing still wont function for any length of time!
I must say that having contacted Rikaline for help, it would seem that once they have exhausted their stock replies, the help dries up completely.

I am left with the belief that i have a fundamentally flawed setup, where the individual components appear to work, until they are combined!!
All in all, a very easy way to waste money, AND a whole heap of time!!!
