There are two ways of answering this - Yes and No!

If you leave the Active10 running over a break it may add some distance to the total it shows. This is because of the slight wandering of position that is inherent in the GPS system. It is only a small amount and is not usually a problem.

If you stop the track over lunch and then re-start it before continuing this should display the 'correct' distance.

If you leave the Active 10 on over lunch, stop the track but then use the GPX tracklog file - you will find that this has been continuing to log information whilst the track recording is OFF - so you will get the added wandering. This throws a few people - but is a nice feature - I forgot to start a track once but I could use the .GPX file to get a full log of the walk.

Note: This is NOT just an ACTIVE10 'problem' - static wandering is a potential issue with ALL GPS receivers. Some implement a static wandering feature - something that doesn't record small changes in position - but these are generally pretty useless for walking.

Edited to add: regarding accuracy of distance - if you had good satellite coverage for all the walk then it should be about as accurate as it can be. If you were in difficult reception areas (heavily wooded forest with wet leaves - then it may be less accurate due to the difficulty in getting a good fix on sufficient satellites to calculate an accurate position.
