Hi everyone

i am adding a few thing to my works TomTom GO 520 Sat Nav

i have read the installation thing, but still a bit confused on installing these sounds on to the 520 unit
do i simply drag the ogg files onto the unit and put them all in the folder called "United Kingdom and Republic Of Ireland"

then when i go to "Warn when near POI" they will appear when i have to choose a sound?

sorry to sound stupid, just don't want to mess up my bosses Sat Nav, he will bloody murder me! Laughing Out Loud

It's best to do a backup using Windows (not Home) beforehand if you're not sure in any case.

As long as the voice files are the same set as the cameras (eg both are speed zoned), then you can put them in the folder with the map and camera files. When doing "warn when near", you will NOT get a choice of sounds, just a message asking if this "... is the correct sound" or similar even though nothing is played. You MUST answer Yes to this.

Set up the distances as you wish. 10 times the speed is used by many here (eg 300yds for 30mph) and double that for mobiles.

Is it right that when I put the ogg files into a map it asks if I want to replace the exisitng ogg file ? eg gatso 20 file.

Surely this is removing the updated speed camera database Ive just downloaded and replacing it with the voice file . ie the voice file is not updated every month for new speed cameras ?

Have I made sense ?

I am not too sure what is going on here, but if you have already installed the ogg audio files and configured them you only need to update the ov2 POI files when updating the camera database.
If you are getting warnings from Windows Explorer about the ogg files being replaced then they must already be within the map folder - Mike
