Hi all, first post here.
I just got a 740 LIVE today, I bought it for a driving holiday coming up. I was under the impression this had an MP3 player built into it. It has everything else, a card slot and speaker. I read specs on a sat nav comparison page that stated this, (not here BTW).
I wanted the LIVE features but I also liked the spec for the 730T, it was the fact this had an MP3 as well which swung it for me , I even bought a 4GB mini sd for it.
Is there anyway I can get MP3 functionality to ths 740?, do TT offer such a thing?
Also I updated my maps today via Home, now it says my maps are out of date. A message comes up saying my maps are 2 quarters old. Has anyone else had this?
Thanks in advance. |

Only the 940 model has a mp3 capability, not the 540 or 740. Sorry. _________________ David |

Thats a pity, I was hoping to use this instead of bringing anything else, it's a real shame considering how much this thing costed.
Any ideas on the maps?, I thought with the free maps for the first 30 days this would be be covered. It's the Western & Central European maps BTW. |

Do you have version 825? If so, that's the latest. If not, TT Home is notorious for giving false information related to LMG.
So:
1) If you have 825, ignore the messag
2) If you don't and are within 30 days of 1st use, call support. _________________ David |

Where can I see if I have 825? I've had a Garmin C310 for the last 3-4 years, so excuse my ignorance re TT. |

Tap the satellite bars on your unit. The next screen shows the version number of the APPLICATION installed (v8.350, released yesterday, is the latest). Tap the version number. The next screen shows the map installed and the version number. _________________ David |

but what's the map number? 8.350 is the NavCore (software) version.

That's NOT the latest map version. The Latest Map Guarantee should have given you v825.xxxx
Ring TomTom in the morning and tell them that Home has not given you the correct map version under the LMG. You will probably have to send them copies of your receipt or other proof of purchase, but they *will* get it sorted for you. The phone number you need is:
0845 161 0009
Monday - Friday: 08:00 to 18:30 GMT
(every first Wednesday of the month: 09:00 to 18:30 GMT) |
