Pete
As we both live in Leeds, I would be happy if you wish, to meet up for an hour and you can try my Ipaq (and V3.00) with your set up and vice versa - we could at least try to figure out what's happening then.
Let me know

has anyone tried gps 2.07/2.08 with ttnav3? are the dropouts a problem with gps 3.01 and was tried to be fixed in 3.02? i uninstalled gps 3.02 twice, then installed gps 2.08. drove around for about 2hrs with no dropouts. the problem here is, i only encountered the gps dropouts with 3.02 once, and i've been testing everyday for almost two weeks now. so difficult really to say whether going back to 2.08/2.07 solves the problem. _________________ tomtom 940 live/tt active dock holder/tt rds-tmc traffic receiver usb |

Latest from TomTom
Quote: | My apologies for the inconviences,
Please try the following:
- Turn off the infra red receive on your Pocket PC:
Go to Start ---> Settings ---> Connections tab ---> beam ---> turn off "receive all incoming beams"
Hardware: "To exclude a hardware failure with the GPS receiver"
Please drain the GPS receiver first, by leaving it on for a period of at least 5 hours, and then fully recharge it for a minimum of 2 hours, using the 220v home charger.
This will reset the Bluetooth software.
Basically AFTER (not BEFORE) the 3.02 driver is installed delete the bluetooth bonding in the IPAQ bluetooth manager and then bond the GPS receiver again.
*HOW to Pair/Bond the receiver:
Start Bluetooth manager/New/connect/select TomTom Wireless GPS/connect/green arrows appear/Bond is created.
We hope to have answered your question to your satisfaction.
With best regards,
The TomTom Customer Support Team |
I will try this out later, when I have run the receiver down, and post any out come.
I can not see it being the receiver as it worked OK with Ver 2. I have also re-bonded before, and it made no difference |

Tried that, still the same problems.
I have done another hard reset, and have only TomTom installed, as per the various support e-mail, but its still no good. I will just keep sending support e-mails and see what happens. |

siGh... resigned to the fact that 2210 is a big no-no... tried TT3 on flatmate's 3970 - absolutely no dropouts whatsoever... there goes another £200 for another pda... |

Hi a4ace
Yes it was SP27073.exe and I have the same versions in my asset view as well.
I know on the HP site there is what looks like a later version of the ROM. I found on another forum (can't find the link now) that the only change was a fix to the German setup file, but when you look at the site you would think that all the ROM versions had been updated.
How many other people with 2210 have this problem, and have you sent an e-mail to TomTom?
I will just keep on at them and see what happens. It would be good to see support acknowledge the fact that some 2210 have problems |

it's just funny that you are consistently getting this error. i encountered the drop out once in two weeks. i e-mailed them and they did acknowledge that some 2210s still have problems.
i've tried the 2.08 driver and it works, but i still went back to 3.02 and haven't encountered the problem yet.
i can't think of anything else. you must have installed the 3.02 upgrade twice as they said. and must be aware of the problems with installing tomtom navigator and maps on some SD cards.
the other difference might be that i use xcpuscalar. when docked, my 2210 runs at 472mhz. _________________ tomtom 940 live/tt active dock holder/tt rds-tmc traffic receiver usb |

This isn't a universal problem with 2210's
I currently have ttn3 (3.01 and gps 3.02) on a 2210 with a haimcom bt slipper plus a sony t68i (for the traffic) permanantly connected via bt - I did a hard reset before installing ttn3
I'm not suffering any drop outs at all - probably driven close to 3000 miles with ttn3 and had maybe 6 or 7 instances of losing the bt connection - this I solved by unticking and reticking the bt connection status box.
I'm using the 1.10 rom with the sdio update applied. I did have initial problems with constant lockups which were solved by changing from a sandisk sd card to an integral one. _________________ -----------------------------------------------------------

I have now run out of ideas. I have changed my SD card. I did have a Scandisk, but now have a Simpletech one. The only thing installed on the card is the mapping data, the rest is on the main memory. |

I have just purchased TomTom Nav Ver 3.01 (409/2) and GPS Ver 3.02 on an iPAQ 2210 ROM Ver 1.10 with a Holux GR-230 Bluetooth receiver.
Everything seemed to work fine on a couple of short journeys when it arrived but now suffers from the lockups/freezing described earlier.
It happens every few minutes and is totally unusable in its current state.
Restarting TTN3 or sometimes switching the GPS off/on works until the problem strikes again minutes later.
I too have emailed TomTom and will post any new suggestions. |

Just to add my two pennyworth, I did a rom upgrade on my 2210 before installing TTN3 and, touch wood, I've had no problems so far.
