Anyone using TalkTalk as their ISP?
I have just decided to get to the bottom of a recent issue I had, namely that the "Assist and Go" application was not functioning properly.
The "OK" and "Cancel" buttons in the system tools popup confirmation boxes for example would not operate.
After a bit of head scratching due to a few recent installations, I realised the popup confirmation boxes were IE based.
See where this is going yet?
Removed IE8 and rolled back to IE7 which is neatly hidden under Vista and everything works fine.
As a Firefox user, I can still get shafted by IE. Brilliant : |

this is exactly why MS now use Word's html rendering engine for emails in outlook 2007 cos they don't want businesses to have to go through the hassle of having to change all their software that is based around ie5.5 or ie6 by updating to ie8...
so because a few big businesses can;t be bothered spending money on development the rest of the world gets shafted and can no longer read w3c standardised emails...
i just get more and more annoyed as the days go by!!

Why get annoyed, just feel sympathy for all those who persist with Windows when there are better options available
Seriously though it is time Microsoft were lambasted for their refusal to stick with agreed web standards. _________________ Darren Griffin |
