|
|
I have a Garmin Nuvi 360T, and I've just installed a map update. I'm now trying to update the camera database using the POI Loader.
I have followed the instructions carefully but despite the message saying the POI's have been transferred to my Nuvi successfully, the camera alert fail to materialise when out on the road.
Can anyone help please? |

Hi and welcome.
Can you check you have the alerts switched on? It'll be something like
Tools, Settings, Proximity Alerts, Change, Custom POIs should be ticked.
Can you also check the cameras are listed under
Where To?, Extras, Custom POIs? |

Thanks for coming back so promptly.
Under Tools, the Custom POIs is ticked.
I can't check where the cameras are listed under as I do not have an Extras tab under the Where To section.
I have uploaded your camera database previously without any issues, so why I am experiencing this problem now is a bit of mystery.
More help needed I'm afraid! |

Can you check it's not on the second page after you press Where To? Should be some up / down arrows to move to the next screen.
Can you plug the Nuvi in to a PC and check the Garmin/poi folder for a file called poi.gpi? Might be worth deleting the file or moving it to the PC and then try reinstalling the Database.

So there must be some Custom POIs installed as the option only appears once Custom POIs are installed. Have you tried browsing the map to a local camera and zooming right in? |

All sorted!
Your suggestion about deleting the poi.gpi file seemed to work. I've tested the upload at a local camera spot and all working fine, including the voice alerts I downloaded and put in the same file - they are really neat!
Still can't see an Extras tab but not too bothered now camera database upload successful.
Thanks for the advice. |

Sorry. Opened the wrong manual! The 360 equivalent is
Where To?, My Locations, Custom POIs
you should find the camera listed there... |
