Streetpilot 2820 basemap

I was wondering if its possible to replace the basemap from USA to europe on a 2820 . My trusty 2720 is on its last legs and there is a possibility of getting a Murican 2820 .
Unlike the 2720 the 2820 can be viewed as mass storage so I thought it might give me a chance of doing it

I do know that you did a preview when it was new so hoped there might be some knowledge around about it.

In the end I checked out the history by using the search engine and realised that as the 2820 is mass usb I might be able to do something .

After that I went to the My Garmin page and checked out the maps upgrade section only to find it was giving me the opportunity to record my maps against a second garmin unit (I thought this had been done away with ) so have gambled and bought an Murican unit at a knock down price brand new and will put the Europe maps on , then I can retire my knackered 2720
