I'm thinking of buying the Rikaline 6021 X6 GPS CF for my Dell Axim X5.
I'm going for this one because it's the only CF Slot GPS card I can find that comes in a bundle (pdamods.com).
I can hardly find any information about this card and the info I can find on here is all about people having problems.
Has anyone got this one to work? Should I go ahead and buy it in a bundle with tomtom3? or should I avoid it like the plague?
Thanks for any info
Vanilla
ps - Also, does the card work ok even when it's not against the windscreen? I kinda wanna mount the GPS low and not right against the window |

The impression I have is the same as yours - that there's a lot of people with problems with the Rikaline GPSes.
If you want a CompactFlash GPS consider a Haicom HI-303MMF - though I'm not sure if anyone will include it in a bundle deal.
You can mount the GPS where you like - but be aware that if you come too low down you may find that the GPS has a very limited view of the sky, and therefore performs badly. The GPS doesn't have to be right against the windscreen, but it must have as wide a view as is possible of the sky.

I have the rikaline gps-6021-x6 (supplied by pdamods) & am very pleased with it and there service.
Did have a problem with the first one they supplied, but was very quickly replaced by pdamods as there was a problem with a batch of them.
Have tried a bluetooth gps to compare and although the bluetooth was a stronger signel I would still stick with the compact flash gps. |

If you read my topic in March this year you will see that I had a lot of problems with the X6. It was finally replaced and since then I have had no problems at all. It sometimes locks out but if you shut down Tomtom and turn off the pda then turn it all on again it works fine. That's only happened twice.
