Tom tom go700 bootloader only ?

My TomTom GO 700 has suddenly gone from working to odd.

It comes up with the tom tom screen followed by the usual tom tom drum noise - then shows the blue bar with yellow loading all the way up then back to a tom tom screen then it shows the following info:

Barcelona Diag V12.M

bootloader version: 5.4201
CPU speed: 400mhz
Memory: 64MB cont.
GO TYPE: M500

Then a long list of its features / settings.

I cant get it off this screen - any help?

Its like pressing F2 on your computer but not being able to boot any further.

Have you tried a reset on your unit???

yep iv tried it but just comes up with that all the time.

I connected it to my computer and copied the files to it as a back up - but im backing up "suspect bad data" (a backup wasnt done before this Sad

)

i dont know if its the files that are the problem or hardware? ?

i wiped the contents of it and loaded my go 300 files to it and it came up with the activation screen so that was different Razz

but i still couldnt use it.

software update cured problem:

downloaded tom tom home program and let it scan my device and it updated and workied on its own.
