Hi i have just bought a tomtom north america sd card from ebay new sealed with product id. version 6.50
When i install it in my tomtom go 720 version 8.302 it ask's me to activate, i go to ttcode.com and get my activation code as usual, ttcode gives me an activation code but my go will not accept it saying the map cannot be activated on this device.
Can anyone help?? |

As far as I know, NA maps are not sold on a sd card, certainly for the 720 model. Your application version is 8.302 which is what is needed for version 8 maps. Your map has got to be about 2 years old. Not even sure it is meant for the 720 model......
You could try this ........ (not really suggesting it, but):
Backup your complete 720 using Explorer, not Home. Ensure hidden files/folders are showing.
Delete contents of internal.
Download an older version of Navcore from here: http://download.tomtom.com/sweet/navcore/navcore_7.163.8493.go.cab
Install. Insert your map on sd card and see if it reads it.

Had a poster at another forum ask how to load his TT map that came on a DVD. Didn't think that was available either. Pirates Matey?

| If you go back to version 650 maps then they were available on DVD for the PDA units and as this was pre home activation who knows what other units they would activate on, that are so far out of date they are worthless though by todays date and standards - Mike |

By my reckoning, the v6.50 maps were released around April 2006, so "new" is not really the right word for them!
