Very confused after map update

Hello.

I recently bought a Nuvi 255WT with Uk and Europe maps. Without really trying the unit out before, I downloaded and installed the City Navigator Europe update withou (stupidly) making a backup first.
Now there are a number of really confusing issues as I explore the unit.
First, I tried entering Paris as a city name to navigate to and it didn't list it. So suspicious, I looked at the data on the Nuvi drive and and only 400 mb is being used with the main map file only 215 mb. On map info on the device it says I have Europe City Navigator 2009 but ticks only one box saying UK and NI.

On "my garmin" website however it lists

Unlk/Reg Sheet,CNE NT 2009.10
Region: City Navigator Europe NT 2009.10, Deluxe All Regions, Jan 09

as being installed as a map. Is that the full map??

Plus looking at mapsource, no maps are listed on the left map tab, but I can get full Paris details on the pc.

Apologies for the garbling and lots of questions but I am confused as you can see.

It sounds like you never selected all the maps, with the map tool select everything by dragging a border around all the maps , in version 11 the size is almost 1.6GB.

We see you’re using an ad-blocker. We’re fine with that and won’t stop you visiting the site.
