Hi all,
does anyone know of a work around for driving in london? The reroute feature is painfully slow and in some cases you have to pull over while you wait for it.
Also while in london the device kept asking me to do a uturn in non uturn areas, which was really a pain because it kept having to re route.
Many Thanks

Try putting the map on a good high speed memory card, today my 930 won hands down at route calculation speed compared to the One XL and 940, no prizes for guessing the maps on the card in the 930, and on the internal flash memory on the other two - Mike |

Do you have a "Traffic" enabled device?
I only recently got one of those and find it MUCH slower to recalculate - I was always rather impressed at how fast an ordinary TT used to be.
EDIT: Ah yes, I see you mentioned "540" just in the title (which you can't see when you're replying!).
Unfortunately there's no way to easily switch off the "Traffic" capabilities, so re-routing calculations are that much slower.
Another thing, obviously short routes will recalculate faster, so if your journey is through central London and then on to Glasgow, it will take an age. Make a shorter route to just get you out of the city. |
