TomTom 3 - Demonstrate route fails

If I attempt to run the demonstrate route option I get a screen stating 'Unable to start demonstration (2)' and the speaker icon starts blinking indicating that it has been switched off. Anyone else experiencing this?

This is an old bug that first cropped up in Navigator 2 (the first version to have a demonstration option) and still hasn't been fixed.

This error means the GPS driver has disabled itself - for example if your CompactFlash GPS isn't plugged in, your Bluetooth GPS isn't turned on or a keyboard driver is blocking access to the serial port your wired GPS would be on. I really had hoped this bug would be fixed in Navigator 3, but it's not - it's still present in Navigator 3.01 / GPS 3.02.


Make sure your GPS is available and try again.
