540 live problem with charging

Hello everyone. I've got tomtom 540 live with active dock. The problem is that when I start my car, tomtom's battery charges just first 2-3 minutes and then flashes the icon low battery and no charging. Any advice please?

Welcome to the forum, what colour is the LED surrounding the On/ Off switch on the device while it is in the car dock with the engine running?
Red indicates external power and charging
Green indicates external power and fully charged
Not illuminated indicates no external power (check ciggy socket power fuse).
Also charge the device by plugging it in to your PC for four or five hours before taking it out to the car - you will be able to see the LED indicator far easier in the house than when the device is in the car dock - Mike
