Hello,
I have identified two bugs in v2.2, that produce memory leaks and when there's no more memory left, produce a Tomtom reboot.
First bug is related to customized backgrounds. If you remove them, it completely disappears.
Second bug is related to Tripmaster going in background mode. Each time you put Tripmaster in background, some memory is lost. To avoid this, reduce the number of times you put Tripmaster in background.
I'm currently working on a v2.3 version that will fix these bugs.
However, on some devices with low memory space, customized backgrounds won't be useable, even with this fixed version. I'll issue a warning on my website about this point. |

I have setup Tripmaster v2.2 on my 730T successfully.
Is there a way to change the maximum speeds from kph to mph ?
Any help would be very much appreciated. _________________ Keith

Quote: | Units (units) parameter defines which units system will be used :
* Metric (metric) units system : kilometers for distance, meters for altitude and kilometers per hour for speed,
* Imperial (english) units system : miles for distance, feets for altitude and miles per hour for speed,
* Nautic (nautic) units system : nautic miles for distance, meters for altitude and knots for speed.

I wanted to use a customised background but I have'nt been able to find it to do it.
Can I assume that I have low memory space left on my 730T and this is effecting the customised backgrounds ?
Could I install Tripmaster onto my SD card instead and would this get round the lack of customised backgrounds ? _________________ Keith

Hello,
Tripmaster v2.3 is available for download. It fixes the Tomtom reset due to memory leaks after some minutes of usage. It also allows you to set the increment value for trackdistance parameter.
And there's a small surprise...

What sort of problems did you get ?
A 730T should have enough RAM memory to support customized backgrounds. Customized backgrounds are provided with Tripmaster and everything is explained in my web page to setup a customized background. |

I went into config using Wordpad and added the extra wording to each line:
daybackground /mnt/sdcard/tripmaster/images/bgnd_wide_day.bmp
nightbackground /mnt/sdcard/tripmaster/images/bgnd_wide_night.bmp
But when I go back into Tripmaster I still only get the white background ( for day ) and the black background ( for night ).
I am scratching my head here , any help would be appreciated.
Also I have just updated to v2.3 and I have been looking for the "small surprise" , but I cannot see what it is.
I am VERY keen to know what this "small surprise" is now.
I shall be watching this topic with interest.
Very nice program by the way , I have been having a play with it today and it is really good. _________________ Keith

Do these two files exist on your Tomtom ?
Can you read them in MS-Paint for examples ?
For the surprise, watch carefully the screen and compare it to the screenshots on my site... |

I thought that both the day and night bitmaps you refer to on your website were included in the download.
I realise that you were just using those as an example of where to put your own background picture.............Ooops !
Pity that because I really like the examples on your website.
I will have to go off and find some suitable backgrounds to use.
Thank you for your help Roussillat. _________________ Keith

There appears to be one issue, with the unit switched on and just sitting stationary at my desk, the total average speed and moving average speed read are changing at regular intervals! I currently have the moving average speed showing 18mph despite not having moved! Is there a reason for this?

Yes, it's due to a poor GPS signal reception because you're in house. I presume that the navigation map would also move at the same time. |

They are included in the ZIP file.
Double check your syntax on the daybackground and nightbackground lines and verify if you can open these files with MS-Paint when your Tomtom is connected to your PC. |

I have looked on my 730T , in the images folder that is in the tripmaster folder and yes there are various different .bmp images but I have tried to make the necessary amendments to the config. file but I cannot get a background to come up on my 730T.
Whilst I am at it I cannot get the speed_alarm.ogg to work either.
I realise that it is probably something that I am doing wrong ( Bill Gates I am not ) but if someone could walk me through it , it would be VERY much appreciated. _________________ Keith

I had the same problem.
The bmp images are in the root directory/tripmaster/images
The config file shown on the web page has them in mnt/sdcard/tripmaster/images which I copied into the config files. Note the speed alarm files (ogg) are setup the same way.
Since I have a SDcard in my 920, I created those folders on my SDcard and copied the files into the folders including the ogg files.
Now everything works.
I haven't figured out the path to have the files load from the root directory on the device. |
