I wonder if an iPhone version is part of the plan for v8?

they've had a version running on iphone at various trade fairs so i would suspect it is likely at some point.

Sorry fellas, they've lost me. After being a loyal supporter of CPL from V4 through to V7 I got sick of waiting for all the CPL7 issues to be addressed and went and bought NNG iGO8. The way I looked at it was, I was going to have to pay to get back all the features I lost from CPL6 anyway. Its not perfect but its stable, it does what it says it'll do, includes TTS, custom POIs, up-to-date maps, fully skinable (something CPL7 was supposed to do) and full 3D graphics. It puts CPL back in the stoneage. I suspect CPL8 will arrive (sometime, maybe, never) where iGO left off about 9 months ago. Quite frankly I don't care about the iPhone, its time ALK realised the easiest customers are their existing users.

Well, I've been playing with CP8 on Android for a couple of days now. It's not bad, but seems to have a couple of glitches and the documentation is not brilliant.

Having said that, for £27 it's hard to fault it. FWIW, TomTom lost me as a customer after they abandoned the Palm platform. I ran a very old Navigator till my old Tungsten gave up the ghost, and CP8/Android is just what I was after as a replacement.
