Hello all.
I recently bought a Go720 (my first ever Satnav), so I am not exactly, what you would call, an expert.
I was wondering if ti was possible to place Geocaches on to the TomTom to notify me when one is close by.
If this is possible,I would be grateful if someone could tell me how to do it.( in laymans terms Wink ).
Thanks in advance.

Hi - As far as I know, most Geocaches are in off road locations and it would be difficult to set them up so as to be able to route to them. I would think you if you could find the co-ordinates for the ones you are interested in, they could be added as normal POI's to your machine and then they would appear on the map as you drive by.

There is a way of sending a location to a TT device from Google Maps, so see if you can locate a Geocache on the map and then, with your TT connected to your pc and HOME not running, click the 'Send' button at the top of the map, select Sat-Nav and see if that works., I know it does for business addresses and I think for private addresses now, so it might work.

Perhaps you could also consider POIEdit to create a file of Geocache POIs and copy the whole thing to your device. I've not tried that myself, but possibly others here will have done something similar and may step in to assist.

Nice find... It did only work for businesses originally, but it now seems to work for any address.
Shame I can't seem to find a way to just browse to somewhere on the map and send that, and also if you try to send the link when Home is already running it tries to open a second window and then Home crashes (well, it did for me...)
