Disc Space on a 740 Go

I have a 740 Go which came with the 2Gb map of Western Europe. With recent mapshare additions, POI's etc It is rapidly running out of space on the internal card (down to about 200mb). Any new map updates will undoubtedly eat into that space.

There is a separate card slot on the 740 unit, so the question is what if any of the files can you re-distribute onto the separate card and still leave the unit in a working state?

You can put entire map folders on to your SD card which can also be the SDHC type of cards which offer the higher capacity up to 32GB.

In addition to the map folders you can also put mp3 tracks and pictures/ videos (assuming you have a third party software to play them) on to a memory card. The trick is to get a high speed card, if you get a slow card the device might refuse to boot up with it inserted.

Your unit needs the MicroSD otherwise called "TransFlash" memory card format - Mike
