Hi,
I'm probably not the first to notice it ,but you can now buy stuff from TT with a paypal account. I have just bought the map update service and the latest map for £40 odd quid. I also got the lane images and I think the IQ routes as well. Can you shed a little light on the IQ routes bit? Does it reroute you at certain time of the day, does it give you the option to exept or cancel the new route? I can work out the lane options (does it only work on certain motorways). I have a company phone that is connected to my 520 but it does not allow the wireless conncetion will this mean the IQ route will not work.
Basic stuff I know but it's best to ask. |

Thanks for that. I went to buy the 12 month pre-pay plus map subs, as I can use a paypal balance, but it says I've already bought something in my basket so I can't continue. Daft. |

IQ Routes will route you different ways depending on the time of day you leave. You can still ask for alternative routes or switch IQ Routes off. If you "Prepare A Route" it asks for the date and time you plan to leave. |

THIS US web site gives a fairly succinct explanation of IQ routes.
And, in answer to the last question, yes, you do get an option to choose an alternative. _________________ Gee-Pee

Change Preferences...
Page 3... Show or Hide Lane images (that's the overhead snapshots of gantry signs at some, but not all, motorway junctions)
Change Preferences...
Page 4... Staus Bar Preferences.. Third sub-page, tick or untick Show Lane Guidance (that's the lane arrows bottom left of your screen, again some, but not all junctions).
Change Preferences...
Page 5... Planning Preferences... Bottom left, IQ Routes tab/button... Enable or Disable.
IQ Routes works from data which is embedded in the map and needs no incoming data. The amount of data will presumably increase with each new map release, as it is historical data collected from us users. If IQR is enabled, it will plan the best route for you according to its map records and it is claimed that for some roads the data has average speed records for different times of day and different days of the week. You could therefore expect it to give you a different route through a city depending on rush hour Tuesday or sleepy Sunday afternoon. If enabled, you do not get an option to accept that route, it's the only route you are offered.
Edit to add..... After you have accepted the route, you can then go to Find Alternative... Calculate Alternative or any of the other choices offered. _________________ Dennis
