Help on choosing a thesis topic involving GPS

I'm a Master student in Computer Science just about to start work on my thesis, I'm hoping that the members here might be able to help with me choosing one. :D

After messing around with lots of applications and satnav I'm convinced that my time should be spent on something to do with this.

What i'm after is an interesting topic thats got enough research to keep me busy but also allows me to create a ppc program that uses GPS.

Does anyone have any ideas?

you could think about "geocoding using consumer gps receivers"

Normally this is done by high precision receivers, and takes ages to come through. A correlation of independent consumer submissions should be a viable alternative.

Thanks for the idea but a new topic has fallen into my lap.

I'm going to be using a GPS device to create a 3d model of the surrounding enviroment.

If anyone has comments about this please don't hesitate to contact me or post. I'd really love for this to be good project.
