New install - help needed

I've just done a first time install of TT3 to my ipaq 3630 but when I try to run it I get the message "You need to load a map from the TT Navigator CD". I have loaded a map but to my storage card via the install program because I don't have mauch space left on my ipaq. So why is it complaining ? All I can do is press OK and return to the Today screen.

I have sent a mail to TT support but I thought I might get it sorted faster through this forum.

Hmmm,Don't actually know the answer to this, but if I were in your position I would be very tempted to uninstall the whole thing (including SD card) and re-install afresh, in case these was some minor glitch when installing the first time. If it does the same after a new clean install then there must be some other problem to be investigated.

I got this fault when I started TomTom wizard rather than TomTom itself. I would check as I think the icon in your menu calls the wizard until the program has run for the first time. If your icon has a yellow star in one corner, that is the wizard program.

I am not sure if I fixed this by running the main program from file manager or by applying the 3.01 update.

this can be fixed by uninstalling the tomtom wizard, then using the explorer navigate to /Program Files/Navigator <- you then need to rename the Tomtom Navigator.exeo to Tomtom Navigator.exe

Thanks for the replies, Sam how do I view the files extensions in PPC2002.

It's far easier to use explorer on your PC with your PPC docked. You can then see the file extensions.

Thanks guys you're absolute stars, you beat TT support anyway. I did what Sam suggested renaming via my PC and it works fine.
