Dodge Charger fails to Dodge Speed Camera Charges

United Arab Emirates newspaper The National has reported that a sports car driver has racked up over US$20,000 in traffic fines. The unnamed man, a Dodge Charger owner, was called into a Dubai police station yesterday.

He was blissfully unaware of the mounting number of his traffic violations as he had never checked his traffic record from the UAE's Traffic Fines Inquiry and Payment System.

He says that a good proportion of his 469 fines came from being caught by speed cameras on Sheikh Zayed Road (see Dubai Speed Cameras to Double up as Crook Catchers).

He believes the reason for his misfortune lies with his pride and joy Dodge Charger. He told The National, "In the past I drove a Mazda 6, a Honda and a Range Rover and never had this problem."
