I'm a very infrequent updater and I think these X2.bmp speed icons must have been introduced since I last downloaded since I don't have any previous files with this name installed on my TT730. Am I supposed to install both the small and large icons (in which case how/when will each size be displayed) or should I choose just one size? TIA.

You can install both. The small icon is used on the map and the larger one appears at the top left of the screen as you approach the camera.
However you need Navcore 7 or above to use the X2 icons. There is some more info on this page under the Large Icons section. |

Install both icons. The X2 version is used to improve the quality when the camera icon is displayed in the top left corner of the screen. The other icon is displayed to show the position of the camera on the map. _________________ Paul |

The x2 bmp files are for the warning icon the device displays top left corner when approaching a camera. You need both bmp files in the map folder, the x2 icon offers a better clear display although since Naore 8,300 it isn't as good as earlier software - Mike |

A quickie while the going's good... The only files not overwritten by the new files are a couple of "pocketgps_uk_temp.bmp files". Are these defunct and should I remove them?
And finally, am I ok leaving all my .ogg files in situ as these too were not overwritten?

The temp files should be removed as temp cameras are now covered in their respective categories. i.e. Temp GATSOs are now in the GATSO file.
Also the ogg files should remain as they are a separate download. |

PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE update frequently. The database is released afresh every Wednesday nowadays and each week sees changes. If your updates are infrequent because you only drive infrequently AND you update every time before you go out, then fair enough. But if you drive more regularly then your update is missing something which might just be the new camera which doesn't miss you! _________________ Dennis
