Has anyone experienced this problem with a 920? The battery meter shows the device is charged, the preferences are set no to turn things off automatically, Bluetooth and phone extra are switched off, yet after a couple hours regardless of whether the device is plugged in or not, it throws up the message that it is shutting down in 20 seconds.
It's not my device and I did tell the chap to join but now I am intrigued.
Thanks |

I'm not sure from your description if this is a battery discharge issue or a "turning off" issue.
Are there any battery warnings flashing on screen when it does it?
Once it has turned off by itself, will it switch back on again, or is the battery now dead?
It is possible for a really dead battery to pull down the circuitry even while the unit is being run on the charger, so it could be that, but I'd expect to see some indications that the battery was running down if it was due to that. |

It is a turning off issue. The battery meter shows a decent charge is still available |

I've read somewhere over the last couple of days that the latest software powers down the unit after something like 15 minutes if nothing happens (i.e. you're not moving and you haven't tapped anything). Might that be it? |

Has the device been sat still without moving for a period of say 10 or 15 minutes when it shuts down as this is normal behaviour on some of the devices - Mike
Makes a nice change - quick on the draw that time Andy |

Does anybody know how to get coffee off a monitor, out of a keyboard, removed from a kitty-cat's fur? _________________ David |

Sorry for the delay. Apparently the problem was not linked to new software. Has been going for a while. I think he has a dodgy battery |
