PIN Protection

Updated Western and Central Europe map today to the new ver 835.2419 and as I have a 940 I had to delete the mapsettings.cfg file to overcome the continual looping.

As I cannot use operate my go from within Home 2.6 is there any other way to add a 4 digit pin to the device.

I previously tried to update to ver 2.7 but ran into the problems described elsewhere on that thread.

Why bother with the PIN? Search and you'll find general opinion is not to bother with it - all it does is slow you down at starting it up. Instead of a PIN, don't give anybody the chance to steal it, keep it safe with you.

1. Even I could bypass it.
2. Anybody who steals it from your car has already busted the windows before the PIN becomes an issue.
3. Anybody who does steal it doesn't check to see if it's got a PIN first.
4. If the thief can't beat the PIN, he simply chucks it away or flogs it in the pub for a lower price. You don't get it back.
