I have successfully downloaded the speed camera databases onto my TomTom 540 but now the function of Points of Interest and Manage Points of Interest are greyed out and so cannot be accessed. Have I done something wrong?

Thanks for any help

Check this:-
"Manage POIs
This button may only be available if all menu options are shown. To show all menu options, tap Show ALL menu options.
For more information, see Hidden buttons and features on page 48 of your Manual."

It can't be anything to do with loading the database, that's just a normal POI file.

It can't be anything to do with "Show all menu options" because that would remove the icon completely rather then make it greyed-out.

The only thing I can think of is you've accidentally moved all your pois out of the map folder, so it's greying out the icons because there are no POIs to manage, but that doesn't explain why it isn't seeing the built-in POIs either.

Have you tried a system reset with a pin in the hole on the bottom?

Have you updated the map since purchasing the device and if so is there more than one map folder on the device? - We have seen this before where it is easy to put the POI files in to the non active (wrong) map folder, this leaves the device displaying no POI options as the POI files are installed but they are within a different map - Mike

A reset is probably the best option to start with, on the x40 you do this by pressing the on/ off button until you hear the drum roll when the device restarts - typically this will take around 30 seconds of keeping the button pressed - Mike
