Help: Upgrading Live 740 to 940

So I had to take my 740 back to Halfords today and got a refund as it had started rebooting constantly. Didnt have time to go through support as the 28 days was almost up.

And lo and behold, the 940 is almost the price paid at the time for the 740 so I thought I may as well upgrade.

So I have two questions

- Will Tomtom home automatically switch the device linked to my email address?
- I paid for map update and live services (mainly to remove the nag messages in home) although neither service was used. WIll these transfer from one device to another or do support need to cancel them / move them?

Any tips for the upgrade appreciated, especially to avoid any of the live problems people have been having

You can normally only change device attached to your account every six months, so in this case you'll have to call support and get them to reset this, and from what I've read here they should be able to transfer the maps etc too.
