|
|
Just installed TT7 on my PDA, al working fine but have a problem with POI warnings.
I copied over all the .bmp and ov2 files from my previous TT6 install and the POI's, especially the speed cams are all ther OK. Problem is when I come to change the sound warnings. They apear to change and when I test them they are fine BUT the problem comes when I shut TT7 down. When I start it again, the sounds have gone back to the default?
Any ideas please or is there a way to change the default sound to one of the other sounds as that would solve the problem!
TIA _________________ Cheers,

Look at the MapSettings.cfg file in the map folder and check if its set to read only, if this is the case uncheck the read only attribute and set up your warnings again. Otherwise make sure the write lock switch on the memory card isn't set to protect - Mike |

Looked at that file and it's not Read Only. As an experiment, I made a change to the warnings and then looked at the time stamp and the MapSettings.cfg changed it's timestamp when I made the change yet the sound for that POI I changed has gone back to default when I restart TT7 !!!
Should I delete that file and start again or will this stop TT7 from running? _________________ Cheers,

Copy the file to the PC then delete the one on the device and start the software, it should create a new file and let you set up your preferences - Mike |

Tried that and even though it created a new file as I had to set my home location again, when I set the speed camera warning and tuned it off and on again it's gone back to default !! This is driving me nuts as I never had a problem with TT6 ! _________________ Cheers,

SORTED !!
If you put a .ogg file in the map directory with EXACTLY the same name as the POI then it will automagically use that one if you set the warn POI on !!
I downloaded some from this site and tried them works perfectly! _________________ Cheers,
