Christmas week I did Bristol to Leeds, York, Newcastle, Penrith, Bristol, about 660 miles and rather more than 8 hours, with similar setup on my 920T, except I had replaced the Loquendo folder with the Loquendo folder from a 730. I had no problems at all and hadn't had any since I made that setup a couple of months ago. I don't run Bluetooth on it - my phone is BT'd to my 720. Last week I had the stutter return a couple of times.

You do significantly more mileage than me Dennis!

The point I was trying to make is that I have been running this setup for over a week now and my daily commute plus this longer journey have been a pretty good test. I had BT enabled and it seemed fine.

Exactly the same set up without the TTS6 voices exhibited map lag randomly from the word go, and the stuttering was intermittent so having the TTS6 and TTS7 Kate voice on at the same time seems to make some difference.

I just completed a 3600 kl ( 2100 m ) trip with many turns and different Hwy's using 8.32 and this loquendo http://www.megaupload.com/?d=NNHZ647O

Everything worked perfect , no stutter or lag and I had ALG pop up on several interchanges.

What is needed is some bad press and bad reviews to get TT to sit up and take notice

What we need is a front page article on all these problems, pointing out the poor afterales support.

However, this is unlikely to happen as the people that run this site are now in bed with the satnav companies. If they did a high profile article pointing out the failures of TT devices or others they may not get their shinny beta test devices to play with anymore, and they wouldn't want to loose them.

I am not a runner of this site and I am not in bed with the satnav companies.

But I think you misread the situation. I know a few Beta testers here and I can assure you that they are not at all backward in saying loudly the faults of both the devices and the Support schemes.

Whilst I'm gagging to lay my hands on Beta test devices, I think you may reconsider why the people that run this site are happy to get hold of Beta devices. They do it mostly in order to get a head start on publishing reviews, which they are able to do on the day of official announcements of devices coming onto the market - with over 250,000 readers, it makes sense to keep the readers in the forefront of the information game.

There is another consideration too. Generally, the devices work. They have teething problems and they have bugs, sure, but probably only the Beta devices have the potential to be rubbish. I cannot name a single Beta tester who has not at some time posted here about the rubbish offered by TT support. And I do know they are quite strong in their criticism of device bugs - that's mostly in the arena of Beta test webpages, I understand and unfortunately TT often seem to bury their ears in the sand.

I think TT get enough bad publicity on this site - surely it is for researchers on other sites or in other branches of the media (press, TV, radio) to approach the people who run this site for informed comment, or even to take the simple initiative of reading your and my posts instead of dumbly accepting the press handouts from TomTom. Read any review elsewhere and compare it to the press release on the TT website. Snap!!

TT, if you're reading this, please send me a shinny beta test device to play with. PLEASE!
