Hi,

I have just received an email from Navman pointing out that I registered my S50 12 months ago. It reminds me that the unit when purchased, included a years free trial of the speed camera software which is due to expire soon and alerting me to update by purchasing a new 12 month subscription from the Navman Shop.

Can someone advise me what happens if I do not purchase the new update from Navman. Will the software become unusable.

Thanks in advance.

Ron

The subscription is to their speed camera data only. if you choose not to renew then you lose access to their speed cam updates only, the remainder of the software will continue to function.

Thanks Darren,

I assume that this means that my unit will still operate with the out of date database.

I was a bit confused, but it was always my intention to subscribe to PGPS rather than Navman due to price and I will probably do this now. I am still a bit unsure about the 12000 POI limit and the restrictions it will cause.

Is there any method where the PGPS files can be identified to areas of the UK which can be selected or omitted to suit personal preference to keep the overall size within the limit.

I have now managed to download the PGPS files and have uncompressed them but I am unable to go any further.

When I open Navdesk2008 there are only four buttons down the left hand side, Nav Online - My Maps - Nav Album - and Image Search. Custom POI's is not listed.

Can anyone please point me in the right direction.

Do you not have a Custom POI tab on the left side of the Navdesk window?

Not 100% on this but I think you have to connect your device to PC in order to see Custom POI tab?

Thanks lads, I have just found my non deliberate mistake.

I had my unit connected by a usb cable which I always use for charging the batteries and assumed that all was well. How wrong I was. The other end of the cable was connected to my BT HUB (Not the PC).

Using another cable straight to the PC corrected the problem.

Now I have to navigate the next problem - finding how to change the file type from CSV in the 'OPEN Box'.

Thanks for your support, I will let you know when I have succeeded or otherwise.

Just type *.* or *.csv in the 'Open' field or select 'All Files' in the 'Files of Type' field.
