Etrex High sensitivity GPS

I have an Etrex H GPS. I would like to use it with Memory Map. However looking at the forum replies for other GPS models it seems to be a problem. We have a fairly new Acer tower computer with Vista. I bought a Memory Map cable which was supposed to be compatible with Etrex H. Unfortunately, I hadn't noticed it was only suitable for Microsoft operating systems up to and including XP. I contacted Memory Map, who told me they did'nt know of any cable that would work with Vista. I have heard that using two cables may be the solution, though I can't understand why one won't do. So questions I have are: 1) What cables would be suitable and where could I get them at a reasonable price?. 2) If it did work, would it be possible to transfer much data given that the Etrex H is fairly basic? 3) If Memory Map can't be used is there other mapping software that could be used instead?
