Hi Guys, can anyone offer any advice on uploading safety camera info onto my nuvi where to find it on the device and how the alerts work when on the road?
This is my first sat nav so any advice will be much appreciated.
Thanks in advance to all who reply |

No that's great thanks.
Once you download the database should I disable Garmin's own Proximity Alerts? And what form do the other alerts take then? I mean is the a verbal warnng or noise? Aswell as a visible reference on the screen?
Many thanks for responding |

Yes, you should disable Garmin own camera database.
The Alerts take the form of an audio alert ("bong, bong") as you approach the site and a higher pitched alert if you are over the limit as you get closer. You'll also get a banner alert across the top of the screen and an icon on the map.
Best database to download is Garmin POILoader - Consolidated Database. |

Do I get the database you mention from the Garmin website? |

No it's from the PGPSW site (i.e. here Once you have subscribed you have to choose the database in 2 steps, the first is Garmin POILoader and then the second is Consolidated.
You'll need to subscribe as per MaFts post above..... |

Done that, thanks very much. PGPSW's database shows more camera's than Garmins database does, I'm very pleased. Seems worth every penny.
Now what next with my nuvi.....any idea's anyone? |
