Hi Folks
I'm new to the forum, and new to the world of TomTom 
I've recently bought a TomTom Go 730T, it connects to my mobile (Nokia 6300) fine but it will not receive or show text messages although it will send them perfectly.
Any advice/help would be appreciated

Hi Adam,
You need to check the TomTom compatibility list at
http://www.tomtom.com/phones/compatibility/phones.php?brandId=6
I couldn't see the 6300 on it, but it was only a quick look!

The Nokia 6300 isn't on TT's compatability list, but mine works exactly like yours.
If you look at the list you will find that all the functions don't work with many mobiles and that some are better than others. TT Gos will not read SMS with most of the phones listed.

Hi Calomax, I have the 6300 too, how do you set it up for texts then, please.
Forgot to say I have a Go 530 |

Tripleh, it's so long ago now that I had forgotten what I did so I just had to go through it again. If the 530 is the same as the 720, go to Change Preferences then on the 6th screen Bluetooth Preferences, then Connect to Bluetooth Device, and follow the instructions.
Then when you're phone is set up, go to Mobile Phone on the first screen and Read/Write Messages where "Read Inbox is greyed out but the other options are available.
